NEB Inskip was brought up in the wild bush of Kenya, learnt to sail in native dugout fishing canoes with outriggers and lateen sails and no lifejackets. He spent his youth swapping stories with the skippers of Arabian trading dhows and by his late teens was living on his own yacht based in Wales and writing short stories. He once said, “I blame my mother for telling me I would be a writer, my stepfather for showing me how to imagine, my English teacher, Mrs. Johns for convincing me that I could write, and the world for giving me so much to write about.”
With a career spanning the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand and a variety of roles across engineering, business, and the social sector, NEB brings a wealth of rich and authentic experiences to his writing. He describes himself as an author, playwright, and sometimes rough poet. He writes across a range of genres from young adult mystery/science fiction, to steampunk mystery/romance and adult romance/drama. He lives in Auckland, New Zealand.
